Service Description

A full speech assessment looking at your child's articulation (coordination of lips, tongue, jaw and soft palate) and phonological skills (rules of the speech sound system) is conducted to determine what type of speech sound disorder your child may have. An oromotor assessment is also carried out if neccessary, to see if your child's strength and range of movements of their articulators are adequate for accurate manner and place production required to say the 44 speech sounds of the English language. A report outlining specific errors your child is making of the sounds in isolation, in words and/or in connected speech is included, as well as recommendations for the types of therapy approaches most effective in treating the sound errors, frequency of these sesions and tips for home. This service includes a 60-minute assessment session with your child and a 60-minute report writing timeslot.
